Sunday in the Park with George

In Cabaret, a concert that Chamber Singers is about to perform in, this year we’re singing songs that are all written by Stephen Sondheim. Two of the songs, It’s Hot Up Here and Sunday, are from the musical Sunday in the Park with George. Thanks to the wonders of Netflix, I rented the DVD version of the musical, a recording of the original production. It’s incredible. I laughed and cried at different times. Just seeing the musical really helped to have all of the jokes and ideas in the songs that we’re singing come into focus. I can’t recommend it enough. Go and watch it!
